The impedance tube material testing system is used to determine the sound absorption coefficient, acoustic impedance and admittance, reflection coefficient, and sound insulation of acoustic materials under normal incidence conditions. The entire system consists of impedance tubes, measuring microphones, data acquisition instruments, power amplifiers, sound calibrators, etc. The testing software automatically calculates the sound absorption coefficient based on the measured peak and valley sound levels, and generates a coordinate curve between the sound absorption coefficient and frequency. The frequency and amplitude of the output signal can be freely set within the specified range. Due to the need for only a small amount of sound-absorbing material as specimens, it is very suitable for studying and designing material parameters.
The impedance tube material testing system is designed based on the national standard GB/T18696.2-2002 "Measurement of sound absorption coefficient and acoustic impedance in impedance tubes - Part 2: Transfer function method" and ISO 10534-2:1998. It tests the sound absorption coefficients of various materials commonly used in building sound absorption materials, automotive interior materials, industrial sound absorption materials, etc. Compared to the standing wave ratio method of the standing wave tubes, it has the characteristics of short testing time, continuous spectrum, and good repeatability, which can greatly improve the efficiency of comparative experiments in material research.
